SUMMARY:In The Loop: Circular Food Economy
DESCRIPTION:in Edmonton\, AB \n  \nNot a panel. Not a pitch night. No keynote address. \nA full day across two floors overlooking the river valley: industry stakeholders and emerging innovators tabling and sampling\, mic moments\, fireside chats\, working sessions\, activities\, VR demos\, and good food made by local foodtrepreneurs. \nThe Economics of a Circular Food System \nFrom the resources it takes to grow food\, through the supply and distribution chains\, to consumption\, and all the way to diverting and converting the waste into a whole new resource — the value added at each step is compounded. The circular food economy is about retaining as much of that value\, for its highest purpose\, as possible. The only way to make sure that value isn’t lost is to expand the value in the eye of the beholder\, and to put the systems in place so the cost of retaining it doesn’t outweigh the gain. \nThese are the rooms to find the people you are looking for if you work in food and ag tech\, across production\, processing or distribution\, in food security and food recovery\, in the business operations every food business runs on\, or in the support services and agencies behind them — or if you are simply interested in the economics of buying local and supply chain management. \nThe purpose is to connect the people outside of their network and outside of their immediate segment of the broader food sector\, and to broaden your understanding of the true economics of food. Either across the loop entirely or in the adjacent cohort\, the resources and experience available\, the language and lens used\, and what seems achievable are all different. But they are all working on the same social issue from different perspectives\, and that is uniquely powerful. \nThese people rarely end up in the same room. Until now. \nGet In The Loop \nWhere community builders connect to create genuine\, aligned action. \nRegister to attend on Luma (see link) or contact us at siih@tckp.ca to support the event as a volunteer! \n
