Amy Horne is the Recycling Operations Manager at Aquatera Utilities Inc. in Grande Prairie.
Amy brings over 15 years of experience in the Solid Waste Services Industry. She has led the implementation of many recycling programs, successfully elevating Aquatera as a leader in the solid waste industry. These programs include: Styrofoam recycling, Curbside Recycling for both single family and multi-family dwelling units, School Recycling Program, securing a long-term partnership with Habitat for Humanity (Restore Operations), implementing and expanding the electronic waste program, used oil program, lead acid batteries, paint program, fluorescent bulb recycling, residential tire recycling and the bottle donation program to list a few. Last year, Amy was the first Canadian Speaker to be invited to the Electronics Recycling Summit in San Francisco.
Amy has also extended herself into the community facilitating and coordinating initiatives with the County and City of Grande Prairie, Alberta Environment, and members of the business community through special events, such as National Waste Reduction Week, Environment Week, Earth Day, E-waste and Paint Round-Ups. For over 10 years Amy has been appointed by the City of Grande Prairie to its committee that focuses on civic pride and environmental responsibility.
