As Alberta Beverage Container Management Corporation’s (ABCRC) Manager of Communications & Marketing, Lori is responsible for developing programs that encourage Albertans to engage in recycling their empty beverage containers. Lori continually seeks to find new ways to foster engagement in recycling to help the industry grow beyond its 85% return rate. In 2018, this amounted to Albertans returning nearly 2 billion empty beverage containers to be recycled into new products.
After working for 15 years in industries including telecommunications and oil and gas, Lori had the opportunity to join ABCRC four years ago and apply her communications and marketing skills to a deep personal passion for sustainability and the environment. During her time with ABCRC she has been a champion in identifying sustainability initiatives within the company as well as overseeing the development of an outstanding annual sustainability report.
Lori holds a Bachelors of Arts (BA) degree from McMaster University in English Language and Literature, and is currently reviewing options to further her education by pursuing a Master of Sustainability Leadership (MSL) degree.
In her free time, Lori enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter in the beautiful Alberta Rockies, participating in a variety of summer and winter sports.
