Mason Austen is an environmentalist and a problem solver. He became the Operations and Communications Manager for Do It Green (DIG) after starting with the company as the Community Engagement Coordinator in 2015.
Mason grew up in High River before attending Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec where he graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and Business degree.
In addition, he was a student athlete for the Bishops Lacrosse team, helping to win a National Championship in 2011 as well as Captaining the team in 2015.
Before rejoining DIG, he spent a year travelling and volunteered with the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) throughout Australia and Europe, where he grew his interest in food waste management and recycling.
He now spends his free time coaching Jr lacrosse in Calgary as well as hiking and fishing, and travelling every chance he can.
