Description
REAPS is a non-profit society which was formed in 1989. The purpose of the Society is to help foster environmental stewardship within the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. The society is operated by an executive which oversees special events, educational initiatives, public relations and other programs to increase awareness of waste reduction opportunities and environmental issues that exist within our community.
Services Offered
Maintain a Compost Demonstration Garden, provide free on site workshops on backyard Composting, Vermicomposting, Organic Gardening, Recycling and Natural Pest Control Methods; conduct free Home Composting Visits; offer 38 free school programs such as Are You Wasting Your Waste, Ellie the Elephant and Plastics, Adopt-A-Worm, H20zone, Dumpy the Overfed Landfill, School Backyard Composting, and Recycling Club; offer various free school environmental challenges (i.e., Earth Day Poster Contest, Waste Reduction Month Challenge, Recycle Toy Drive).
