APRA Announces Alberta Circular Plastics Day 2023

The Alberta Plastics Recycling Association, in partnership with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, is proud to present the inaugural Alberta Circular Plastics Day!

Who is the Alberta Plastics Recycling Association (APRA)? 

The Alberta Plastics Recycling Association facilitates partnerships and programs to advance circularity across the plastics value chain.  

What are the main goals of APRA?  

  • To bring value added projects that progress plastics circularity to Alberta 
  • Increase awareness of the importance of the plastics circular value chain on a local and global scale 
  • Provide advisory and advocacy leadership with policy makers on the plastics circular economy 

What is the Alberta Circular Plastics Day 2023?

The Association is hosting a one-day conference focused on the future of plastics circularity in Alberta, called the Alberta Circular Plastics Day. This day promises to provide:

  • information for anyone interested in the plastics industry and advancing innovation in this sector 
  • unique networking opportunities across all areas of the plastics value chain including speakers and exhibitors from a variety of companies and organizations directly involved in the circular plastics economy 
  • the start of an ongoing and evolving conversation around Alberta’s Natural Gas Strategy and establishing the province as a leader in plastics circularity 
  • tours of the state-of-the-art Productivity and Innovation Centre at NAIT 
  • focused exploration and information gathering about policy, advocacy, barriers and innovations emerging right here in Alberta to guide future decision within the Alberta circular plastics economy 

Who will be there?

  • Members and non-members of APRA including resin producers, recyclers, manufacturers, non-profit organizations, industry associations and academics 
  • Members of the plastics value chain from across Canada 
  • Delegates from various levels of government 
  • Others who wish to learn more about the circular plastics economy in Alberta 

Program Schedule

The full schedule will be launched in early 2023, however, the day will run from approximately 8am to 4pm with an optional networking reception at the end of the day until approximately 6:30 pm.
