Summer Ambassador Feature

The RCA is excited to welcome back Summer Ambassadors this year! They are itching to get started and will participate in various events across the province this summer to promote recycling and other environmental initiatives. They have a broad range of educational backgrounds and will represent the RCA at compost giveaways, waste audits, curbside studies, public recycling events and more!

Camille Baloloy

Camille is a fourth year student majoring in Geology at the University of Calgary. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Calgary when she was 13. Camille loves exploring the Rockies and is excited to camp and hike with her friends and family this summer. In her spare time, you could find her traveling, hiking, or eating. If she could have a superpower, it would be to have all her wishes granted. Camille is most excited to gain experience and knowledge about waste reduction and resource conservation from her position with the RCA as a Summer Ambassador.

Kelsey Cruz

Kelsey is in her third year at Thompson Rivers University majoring in Biology. She attends university in Kamloops BC, but grew up in Calgary. Her favourite place in Alberta is Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. In her spare time, you could find her playing basketball, hiking, or grabbing a coffee. If Kelsey could have a superpower, she would want to be invisible. Kelsey looks forward to learning more about the Circular Economy and inspiring others to work towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

Audrey Johnson

Audrey is in her second year at the University of Alberta majoring in Biological Sciences. She resides in her hometown of St. Albert. Her favourite place in Alberta is Windy Point in Nordegg. In her free time, she enjoys drama, crafting, and playing ringette. If Audrey could have a superpower, it would be to control the speed at which time passes. This summer she is looking forward to the variety that this position offers and the opportunity to work with her fellow Ambassadors. Audrey is especially looking forward to learning more about the Circular Economy and advancing recycling education in her own community.

Alyssa Sandeman

Alyssa is a fourth year student at the University of Alberta. She is majoring in Astrophysics, working towards her Bachelor of Science. Alyssa was born and raised in Fort McMurray, but resides in Edmonton. Her favorite place in Alberta is the Cascades on the Athabasca River. When she is not busy with RCA duties you can find Alyssa kayaking, painting, and playing ringette. If she were to have a superpower it would be teleportation, and to be able to travel anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye. Alyssa is excited to be an ambassador to express her passion for the environment and recycling. She looks forward to taking part in RCA and public recycling events to learn more about recycling in Alberta and spread awareness about their programs.
