RCA Welcomes Alyssa Carson as New Program & Partnerships Manager

Connector January 2026

The Recycling Council of Alberta is pleased to welcome Alyssa Carson as our new Program & Partnerships Manager

Alyssa brings more than 20 years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and governance (ESG), waste management, community engagement, and program leadership. Her career spans municipal government, industrial services, mining, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a strong focus on collaboration and practical outcomes.

Alyssa is no stranger to the RCA. Through her previous role with the City of Beaumont, she worked closely with the RCA while managing municipal and residential waste programs, leading community and employee education initiatives, and participating in regional waste and sustainability committees.

Most recently, Alyssa worked at Sherritt International, where she led community investments and partnerships, collaborated with government and industry partners, and supported ESG initiatives. In this role, she also helped organize and support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and ESG programming for Canadian employees, working alongside community groups, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to foster inclusive learning, respectful engagement, and shared understanding.

Alyssa lives in Edmonton, located on Treaty 6 territory, within the Métis Nation homeland and home to one of the largest Inuit communities south of the 60th parallel.

She brings a relationship-focused approach to program delivery, events, communications, and partnerships, and is deeply committed to advancing recycling and strengthening Alberta’s circular economy. We are pleased to welcome Alyssa to the RCA team and look forward to her contributions across the province.

Alyssa shares:

I have spent my career building relationships, leading ESG initiatives, and collaborating with communities, industry, and government. Those experiences have strengthened my commitment to supporting meaningful, practical change. I’m excited to work alongside members and partners to advance circular economy across Alberta.
