Programs & Partnerships Manager
Position: Programs & Partnerships Manager
Location: Alberta (remote with some travel)
Compensation: CA$70,000 – $90,000 (salary and hours flexible to align with level of experience and skill set)
About the Role
The RCA is seeking an energetic and creative Programs & Partnerships Manager to design and deliver programs, events, and member services that advance recycling and circular economy solutions in Alberta. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role emphasizes program execution, event planning, member engagement, grant writing, and sponsorship support. This role also includes organizational and administrative support to the Executive Director (ED) to ensure the RCA runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Program & Event Delivery
- Plan, execute, and support RCA events (e.g., annual conference, Explore Circularity Day, Big Shot, webinars, workshops, training sessions).
- Support program development aligned with the Strategic Plan (ICI programs, circular economy 101, zero waste initiatives, recycling initiatives).
- Evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements.
- Partnerships & Member Engagement
- Strengthen relationships with members, sponsors, and partners.
- Coordinate member services and communications to increase engagement and retention.
- Act as a key contact for general and member inquiries and collaboration opportunities.
- Fund Development & Grants
- Identify grant opportunities and draft proposals.
- Support fundraising campaigns and sponsorship development.
- Track and report on funded project deliverables.
- Communications & Content
- Develop content ideas for webinars, newsletters, website, podcasts, and social media.
- Coordinate knowledge-sharing resources (e.g., resource hub with case studies, best practices, circular economy tools).
- Support the ED in external communications, and media outreach.
- Operations Support
- Maintain project management systems and event logistics.
- Provide administrative support as needed to ensure smooth operations including support for the Board.
- Be a technical resource for meeting support.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong background in program management, event coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or sponsorships.
- Ability to build relationships across sectors (government, business, community).
- Passion for sustainability, recycling, and circular economy principles.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
- Knowledge of Alberta waste management systems an asset (e.g., EPR, stewardship programs, municipal programs, provincial government)
- Post-secondary education in environmental field, supply chain, circular economy, or another related field required.
