Municipalities play a critical role in advancing Canada’s transition to circular economy and creating more resilient, affordable, and sustainable communities. On September 17, 2026 at 12PM ET join Circular Innovation Council (CIC) for a free information session highlighting the role that local governments play in stimulating a circular economy and how CIC can help turn high-level strategy into actionable impacts. In this information session you will learn about: – Circular Innovation Council and have a chance to meet our team of subject matter experts. – The essential role that municipalities and communities play in advancing circular solutions. – Events, resources, and programs available to help build capacity of circular economy knowledge within your government and exchange knowledge with other communities across Canada and globally. – Examples of place-based pilots that CIC has activated in coordination with municipalities, and opportunities to collaborate. Who should attend? Advancing circularity in your community requires collaboration across several departments: Public Works, Solid Waste and Recycling, Environment and Climate Change, Economic Development, Procurement and Shared Services, Council / Tribal Council Members We encourage representatives from any department and from any Canadian city, region, town, or First Nation community to participate in this information session.
