Andrew Telfer

Director

Andrew is currently the director of Circular Opportunity Innovation Launchpad (COIL) at Circular Innovation Council, a leading national non-profit organization that advances the circular economy across Canada.

Before joining CIC, he held various business and sustainability roles, including executive director at the Smart Cities Office at the City of Guelph. The Office created and managed two significant circular economy initiatives – Our Food Future and COIL.

Andrew led the responsibility files at Retail Council of Canada, which included sustainability, animal welfare, responsible sourcing, and health and wellness. He worked at Walmart Canada for 13 years and led their sustainability program for over a decade.

Andrew is an accomplished public speaker on sustainability, circular economy, and climate action and how they intersect with business strategy. He is a proud honouree of Canada’s Clean50. Andrew holds a degree in geography from the University of British Columbia.
