Alberta expands recycling to multi-family dwellings – registration now open

Starting October 1, 2026, Alberta’s recycling program for packaging and paper products will expand to include multi-family dwellings (MFDs) such as apartments, condos and other eligible multi-unit housing. Registration for the program is now open and closes on October 1, 2025.

This means more Albertans will have convenient access to recycling services right where they live. Circular Materials, the not-for-profit producer responsibility organization responsible for managing recycling across the province, will handle all logistics and costs associated with this service expansion.
