You’re Invited: Explore Circularity Day, Textiles Edition – March 19

This March 19, RCA is hosting Alberta’s very first multi-sector circular textiles conference – and we want you to be there.
Explore Circularity Day 2026 is a chance to join circularity learners and leaders from industry, government, education, public advocacy, and local communities in tackling one of the world’s fastest-growing waste streams.
Our jam-packed schedule includes speakers and delegates from the Canadian Circular Textiles Coalition, the National Association for Charitable Textile Recycling, IKEA, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Debrand, and Alberta Innovates. In a collaborative, welcoming environment, we’ll equip you with textile waste fundamentals before diving into topics like:
- Challenging consumer mindsets and traditional industry models
- The role of AI and tech-enabled textile innovation
- What’s working, what’s not, and what’s coming in global policy models
- Extended producer responsibility (EPR) frameworks in other jurisdictions
Textiles account for 10% of global GHG emissions, and 5-8% of Alberta residential waste. New regulations and EPR requirements in Europe and California signal major change ahead.
Explore Circularity Day is designed to prepare RCA members and friends with the information and network you’ll need to navigate textile topics. You can expect to leave energized and informed, with practical, scalable solutions that you can implement at home and at work.
