In Alberta, Cleanfarms operates a suite of collection and recycling programs for agricultural plastics and packaging. These include the ‘Alberta Ag-Plastic. Recycle It!’ pilot program, which collects grain bags, baler twine, silage plastic, and bale wrap; an empty pesticide and fertilizer small container and bulk container (drum and tote), and seed, pesticide and inoculant (SPI) bag collection program; a collection program for old and unwanted pesticides and livestock/equine medications (UPLM) offered periodically across the province; and, several pilot projects for various other agricultural plastics/packaging. These programs continue to evolve and expand as Cleanfarms works with governments, municipalities, retailers, recyclers, and farmers to develop practical stewardship solutions for Alberta’s farming community.

Position Summary

Cleanfarms is currently looking for a self-motivated Alberta-based individual to fill the role of Alberta Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Western Region Director and working closely with Western Region staff, this position supports the delivery of Cleanfarms stewardship programs across Alberta and Western Canada.

This is primarily an operations, logistics, and stakeholder support role. The successful candidate will coordinate collection site activities, support contractor and recycler communications, maintain program records, complete reporting and data tracking, support industry and municipal partners, and contribute to outreach and communications activities across Alberta.

The ideal candidate enjoys building and maintaining relationships, solving practical problems, working independently, and supporting environmental stewardship programs within Alberta’s agricultural sector.
