RCA Releases 2025 Circular Economy Conference Environmental and Social Report
The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) has released the Environmental and Social Report for its 2025 Circular Economy Conference “Shoot for the Stars”, which was held at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
As Western Canada’s leading circular economy conference, this 2025 event introduced a formal zero-waste goal alongside strengthened environmental and social initiatives focused on reducing waste, advancing circular practices, and supporting Jasper’s recovery efforts.
Key outcomes from the conference included:
- 390 kg total waste measured and categorized
- 97% waste diversion rate
- 93% organics composted
- AI-enabled food waste tracking through Orbisk
- 15 circular marketplace vendors
- 18 volunteers contributing more than 45 hours to Jasper recovery efforts
The report also establishes a baseline to help guide future improvements in waste reduction, measurement, food systems, and circular event practices.
