The RCA welcomes new board member, Deanna Chauvet
The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Deanna Chauvet to its Board of Directors
Deanna serves as Manager of Environmental Services – Solid Waste with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, where she oversees municipal waste operations, including landfill, recycling, composting, and transfer infrastructure within a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
Through her role, Deanna has been directly involved in Alberta’s transition to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), contributing to the operational, financial, and governance considerations associated with shifting responsibility models. This experience has strengthened her understanding of the importance of collaboration across municipalities, industry, and producer responsibility organizations to achieve practical and sustainable outcomes.
Deanna is aligned with the RCA’s mission to advance waste reduction, recycling, and resource conservation. She values the organization’s role in supporting policy development, strengthening markets, and fostering shared responsibility across sectors.
From a governance perspective, Deanna brings a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and collaborative decision-making. She recognizes the importance of balancing diverse member perspectives while supporting outcomes that advance the organization’s objectives.
