Big Shot: Circular Economy Pitch Night

On November 19, 2025, the Recycling Council of Alberta will host Big Shot, a live pitch event at Edmonton Unlimited showcasing Alberta’s leading circular innovators. 

Five selected entrepreneurs will present their circular business ideas to an audience of “Big Shots” — attendees that may include potential investors, partners, and community leaders — who will vote for their favourite pitch. The winning presenters will earn recognition and the opportunity for a featured spot at next year’s RCA Circular Economy Conference. 

• Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025 
• Location: Edmonton Unlimited 
• Tickets: $10 for members | $15 for general public

• 5:00 p.m. – Doors open, registration, light games, and refreshments 
• 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. – Pitch program featuring circular entrepreneurs 
• 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. – Audience voting and networking 
• 7:30 p.m. – Awards and closing remarks

Who should apply: 
Individuals or organizations with an idea or venture that: 

• Reduces waste;
• Extends product or material life;
• Reuses, repairs, refurbishes, or remanufactures; and/or
• Promotes resource efficiency or sharing 

Big Shot offers an opportunity to: 

• Present your circular idea to an engaged audience 
• Receive constructive feedback from peers and experts like entrepreneur and pitch coach Colin Christensen 
• Build awareness and connections within Alberta’s circular community 
• Compete for the title of Big Shot 2025 Winner

• $10/person for members (RCA or City of Edmonton Waste Reduction Network) 
• $15/person for non-members

Who can apply to pitch? 
Anyone in Alberta with a circular business idea, project, or initiative. 

Do I need to be a member to attend or pitch? 
No. Anyone can apply or attend. Members receive a discounted ticket price. 

Will food be provided? 
Yes. Pizza and beverages will be available to all registered attendees.
