Are you curious about what it is like to negotiate servicing contracts with Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs)? Join us for a webinar hosted by the Recycling Council of Alberta, titled ‘EPR Transition: Making It Work for Your Community,’ sponsored by Dillon Consulting Limited. Participants will gain insights into lessons learned from other communities who have successfully navigated the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) transition with the PROs in their respective jurisdictions. Engage with those who have gone before us as they share their unique approaches and experiences. A Q&A panel discussion will serve to deepen your understanding of the process and broaden your knowledge of potential opportunities.

  • Melissa Murray, Township of Algonquin Highlands, ON – Learn about EPR transition for a municipality with a depot collection system continuing to provide recycling services through an agreement with Circular Materials (CM).
  • Isabelle Godin, Kent Regional Service Commission, NB – Hear about the transition experience as a service provider to CM, managing curbside waste for 7 municipalities in eastern NB.
  • Deanna Dakin, Region of Waterloo, ON – Ontario’s Blue box program started in the Region in 1983 in the City of Kitchener. Hear about this upper-tier municipality’s recent experience in transitioning blue box responsibilities to CM and how it affected the waste management services that the Region provides for its seven lower tier municipalities (3 cities and 4 townships).

She has over 36 years of municipal solid waste experience and transitioned from municipal government in 2019.
