Reflecting on a Remarkable 2024

As we approach the holiday season, the Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) is thrilled to share the highlights of an impactful year. Together, we’ve made notable strides in advancing the circular economy across Alberta. Explore more details in the 2023-2024 RCA Annual Report. Here’s a look back at some of our key achievements:

  • Welcoming New Leadership: Jennifer Koole joined us as our new Executive Director, bringing her wealth of experience and vision for a circular future.
  • Launching Vision 2030: This ambitious strategic plan sets the course for RCA’s transition from recycling to circularity, outlining bold goals for the years ahead.
  • Growing Our Community: We welcomed 800 new LinkedIn followers and 36 new or returning members to the RCA family.
  • Supporting Our Members: With 16 member events and tours, we strengthened connections and provided valuable support to advance shared goals.
  • Hosting the 2024 RCA Conference: This year’s event brought together 30 exhibitors, 42 presenters, and 374 attendees, fostering collaboration and innovative ideas for a sustainable future. Don’t miss our Sponsor Tribute and 2024 Conference Wrap-Up Video celebrating the highlights and contributors who made this event a success.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey in 2024. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to build on our progress and continue advancing the circular economy.

We announced the launch of the inaugural RCA Explore Circularity Day that will take place on March 10, 2025, at the Productivity and Innovation Centre at NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta, and will tackle a hot topic: should there be a place for waste-to-energy in the circular economy? Check out the details here.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season and an inspiring start to 2025. Here’s to another year of progress, collaboration, and shared success!
