RCA NEW MEMBERS SPOTLIGHT: WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS TO ALBERTA’S CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Connector October 2026

The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) is pleased to welcome five new members to our growing network. They include a Calgary consultancy helping technical industries adapt to the energy transition, a returning member with more than three decades of experience in aerosol recycling, and three individual members. Together, they add new knowledge, experience and energy to Alberta’s circular economy.

Jiva Consulting

Building resilience starts with sharing knowledge well.

Founded in Calgary in 2012, Jiva Consulting helps energy and infrastructure organizations capture, transfer and strengthen critical technical knowledge. Its team includes engineers, researchers, instructional designers and communicators. Together they turn complex technical subjects into clear, practical learning through consulting services and Jiva’s School of Energy.

Jiva’s work increasingly focuses on the energy transition. Its Responsible Energy Transition course series offers practical information on new technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture, utilization and storage, written for people both inside and outside the industry. Jiva has been carbon neutral since 2020 and is working toward B Corp certification. The company is led by President Reena Sahney, P.Eng., who is currently completing a Master’s in Sustainability.

By helping organizations understand and adapt to change, Jiva builds the kind of capacity a circular economy depends on. We’re glad to be working alongside Reena and the Jiva team.

The Recycle Systems Company

Some materials need a specialist, and few are more challenging than a pressurized can.

Based in Nisku, The Recycle Systems Company (RSC) has been recycling aerosols and compressed gas products since 1992. RSC began as a pilot project processing aerosol cans collected at Alberta household hazardous waste round-ups. Since then, it has developed methods for handling everything from common household aerosols to CFC and Freon cylinders.

Through its Terra Impact Management division, RSC also supplies solvents and offers a recycling option for the waste those products create. This closed-loop approach turns used material into feedstock for recycled products.

As Alberta moves through its EPR transition, RSC’s long experience with hard-to-manage materials is more relevant than ever. We’re delighted to welcome RSC back to the RCA community.

Individual Members

RCA also welcomes Aishah Mohd Isa, Sandra Brunton and Ilona Braun as new Individual Members. Individual members bring their own experience, curiosity and commitment to our network, and they help connect the circular economy to communities across Alberta. We look forward to meeting them in person at Catch the Wave this October.

Welcome to the RCA Community

Our members are at the heart of the Recycling Council of Alberta’s mission to champion, convene and build capacity for Alberta’s circular economy. We’re excited to welcome Jiva Consulting, The Recycle Systems Company, Aishah Mohd Isa, Sandra Brunton and Ilona Braun. We look forward to working together on innovative, practical and collaborative solutions across the province.
