RCA New Member Spotlight: Calgary Toy Library

Connector December 2025

The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) is on a mission to drive the circular economy forward across Alberta. As a dedicated non-profit and charitable organization, we’re proud to partner with a dynamic network of members who share our vision of a sustainable future. Today, we’re thrilled to spotlight one of our incredible new members, the Calgary Toy Library. Thank you for becoming part of the RCA community!

The Calgary Toy Library is helping families cut down on clutter and waste by offering curated toy and gear lending focused on quality, creativity, and reuse. Members can borrow five items at a time from a collection of more than 650 toys, most suited for ages six months to five years, with a small and growing S.T.E.M. selection for older kids.

Each toy is professionally cleaned and prepared before pickup, and soon families will be able to browse the full collection in person at the Toy Library’s new location inside Parkdale United Church. Borrowing is simple. Keep items for three weeks, exchange them as often as you like, and enjoy a steady rotation of high-quality toys without the cost or waste of constant purchasing.

Memberships are available in one-, three-, and six-month options, and the Toy Library offers clear guidance for lost or broken pieces. They also purchase pre-loved toys that fit their quality standards.

With a motto of never lending what they wouldn’t borrow for their own children, the Calgary Toy Library offers a trusted, low-waste alternative for families who value experiences over more stuff.
