RCA Attends CCRI Workshop: Advancing Circularity in Canadian Cities
In June, the Canadian Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) hosted an in-person workshop in Mississauga, funded by the Green Municipal Fund. In collaboration with the Amsterdam-based organization Metabolic, the workshop emphasized a systems thinking approach to circularity in cities.
As a partner of the CCRI, we were thrilled to attend and witness municipal circular economy leaders from across Canada come together to discuss essential topics such as food waste and food systems, data collection for the circular economy, circularity in the built environment, and scaling up circular economy projects.
The CCRI, a collaboration of the National Zero Waste Council (NZWC), the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), the Recycling Council of Alberta, and RECYC-QUÉBEC, is dedicated to building circular economy knowledge and capacity within the Canadian local government sector.
A big thank you to all the amazing people who worked behind the scenes to make this workshop possible, and to the team from Metabolic (Guillermo Corella Dekker & Jorrit Vervoordeldonk)!
