RCA Introduces New Project & Outreach Coordinator

Connector Spring 2017

Paulina Retamales has a Bachelor in Education degree from her hometown in Chile. She arrived in Canada in 2010 seeking new opportunities and to pursue her Masters of Arts degree at the University of Alberta. As an outdoor educator and trained Master Naturalist, Paulina has strong environmental ethos and extensive experience working with children, youth and adults and has taught outdoor education courses for the past ten years. She recently joined the Recycling Council of Alberta as the Project & Outreach Coordinator, following a successful role with River Valley Alliance, where she planned, coordinated events and developed a Geocaching program to help create awareness, preserve and protect Alberta’s Capital Region River Valley. Paulina is passionate about connecting citizens to natural areas, and encouraging others to be active participants in the outdoors.

Paulina is a mother of a 3-year old boy and a 7-year old girl. She enjoys spending time in Edmonton’s river valley, exploring nature through hikes and bike rides, and exposing her children to nature to help promote their awareness and importance of resource conservation.
