Meet the 2019 Summer Ambassadors!

Connector Spring 2019

Ambassadors Tour: Liberty Tire Recycling

The RCA’s summer ambassadors are back and are enthusiastic about the upcoming summer where they will take part in many events across Alberta promoting recycling and other environmental initiatives. This year we have four ambassadors with a wide range of educational backgrounds that will be partaking in events such as school audits, community and commercial round-ups, surveys, educational experiences, compost give away’s and many more. The ambassadors are excited about the opportunity to be involved within the community to promote waste reduction and experience it first-hand.

Ambassadors Tour: Calgary Composting Facility

Our Edmonton based team is composed of Tessa Hill and Katelyn Hubercheck who will be running and helping out at events in the central/northern part of the province such as Grand prairie, Edson, Strathcona County, Bonnyville, etc. Tessa just completed her fourth year at the University of Alberta where she is studying a Bachelor of Commerce and certificate in sustainability. She is going to be completing her last year of school on exchange in France. Katelyn just completed her bachelor of science in biology and environmental science at Concordia University of Edmonton, and is continuing her education by starting an after-degree in environmental public health this upcoming September. She recently completed an exchange program in Brazil where she participated in public health and environmental technology related programs.

Ambassadors Tour: Edmonton MRF

Our Calgary based team is composed of Kate Wegscheidler and Ruthie McComb who will be serving the southern part of the province in Rocky View, Drumheller, Red Deer, Cochrane, etc. Kate is going into her fourth year at the University of Calgary where she is studying international relations. Ruthie is with us all the way from the University of Waterloo in Ontario where she is going into her third year of the Honors Environment, Resources and Sustainability Cooperative program. The Calgary team has already completed a big event by conducting the Composting at Home program in the Red Deer region where they provided residents with at home advice and information about composting.

All the ambassadors are excited about the upcoming events and if you have a project that may benefit from the involvement of the RCA’s Summer Ambassadors, contact us at info@recycle.ab.ca to discuss project costs and your requirements. Project duration can range anywhere from one day to several weeks.
